If there’s one thing I never used before having a beauty blog it was definitely a highlighter. I’ve always been a fan of blushers but never really added anything either on top or under it. I started off using Benefit’s High Beam highlighter before I switched to NARS. I honestly think that Benefit is over priced and over rated and that most people use their products because they have pretty packaging. I felt as though a NARS highlighter was more value for money. When I went into NARS to try a highlighter I was so shocked at how strong Copacabana is, it didn’t help that the make-up artist failed to blend it properly. But once I fixed it I actually really liked the product.
The thing I really love about this is that a little goes an exceptionally long way. It shimmer is so strong that you only need the smallest amount to get a noticeable effect. If you’re looking for a more dewy skin tone this highlighter can be added before the application of foundation. however, if you’re looking to draw attention to the cheekbones it can be dabbed on with a brush after the application of foundation. I usually only use this product on a night out because the effect is really strong and I don’t really think the shimmery face look is one for the day time. I cannot see me ever using all of this product simply because there’s so much of it but I do recommend it!
NARS offer different highlighter shades which can be found on their website. I’d definitely recommend trying NARS before opting for a Benefit or MAC highlighter simply because they’re better value for money and so effective!
