Urban Decay De-Slick Make Up Setting Spray

For all my oily skin types out there… I present De-Slick, a make-up setting spray with oil control. I have oily skin and come summer time I’m always looking for mattifying products. I prefer a matte look to a dewy one – but that’s just my opinion. I wandered in to Urban Decay’s store on Covent Garden with my friend Louise. We didn’t have purchases on our mind but I had wanted to try De-Slick for a while. I bought the travel size version for several reasons: 1) Make-Up & Beauty mini’s are fucking cute, 2) I have 0 money for make up 3) I wanted to trail it before I invested Β£21 4) my dresser has no space for more beauty items. Here’s how I got on with De-Slick.

I used this setting spray on the weekend at a family BBQ and my make-up lasted really well. However, it lasted no better than when I use Fix+ so I feel like this product has been over hyped slightly. I have no plans on going clubbing lately because I’ve done so much of it already this summer but when I do go I’d love to put this to the test and see how good it is then. Considering Urban Decay’s eye primer sets shadow in stone I would expect this to too.

That isn’t to say that this is a bad product. It sets make-up and I didn’t feel myself getting oily so I didn’t feel the need to top up on mattifying powder or anything like that which is good as I hate doing that! I would recommend both this and Fix+ but I don’t have a personal preference between the two. I would say that UD packaging is prettier. Yet, MAC have brought out the different scents of Fix+ that I haven’t yet tried but could swing my opinion towards the MAC side of things.

All in all I like De-Slick. I won’t cry when I run out but I can see myself re purchasing somewhere along the line. I’m hoping to put it through its paces when I get to Mexico and go clubbing there. Although I’m not even sure if industrial strength setting spray can help anyone there!

What do you think of De-Slick? Does kit beat Fix+ or fail?

GUYS I also would LOVE to do a Q & A video if you have any questions please leave them down below! I’ll be choosing the best questions <3

  • I tried Fix+ once when I went clubbing and it didn't really work for me. My make up was fine but just as fine as it is when I don't use any spray. If you ever use it when clubbing let me know if it works! πŸ™‚ x

  • Fab post hun, I have to agree the mini of this is so cute and I’m always using this as opposed to my full sized spray. I have to agree it does last well but I have tried using this under my makeup as well and does provide a good base for makeup πŸ™‚ I may have to try the fix+ if this lasts the same – wanted to pick it up in the airport, as I want to get the rose scent. Love your new layout also πŸ™‚
