At Home Microdermabrasion with PMD

Hello guys! So for those of you who are a little unsure let me tell you a little bit about what microdermabrasion is. It’s a cosmetic procedure that’s offered at spa’s (my local beauty salon offers the service) where the top layer of your skin aka the dead layer is removed either partially of fully through an abrasive technique. So what are the benefits of microdermabrasion?

In the long run with consistent use microdermabrasion is said to:

  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduce enlarged pores
  • Help with acne (especially scarring)
  • Help reduce age spots
  • Reduce pigmentation
  • Leaves skin feeling very soft and smooth
Sounds like a dream? Right! The PMD is an at home version of the treatment you can spend hundreds on at a spa or beauty salon. A microdermabrasion facial at my local beauty salon is £58 per hour. Considering you may need 3/4/5 treatments investing in a home kit is definitely worth your while.

I found that by using the PMD my skin instantly became much smoother. The circular disks run across your skin exfoliating it and making it much smoother. It sucks away at dead skin really easily and it isn’t at all painful. The following day after using the PMD (I always used it late evening) I found that my skin looked a lot brighter and make-up application was easier because my skin had no odd lumps, bombs or dead skin cells knocking about.

Fortunately I’m not a huge sufferer of wrinkles which means I couldn’t test the PMDs effectiveness on wrinkles as I wanted to. But the PMD is a really study little machine and I’m definitely going to carry on using it so hopefully it’ll deter any wrinkles for a long time!

I’d definitely recommend the PMD if you suffer from uneven skin texture because of blemishes/dry spots etc as it really helped these areas of my skin and my skin is looking much more even and smooth because of it.
