My Paris Journal

Paris holds a really special place in my heart. It was the first city my best friend Holly and I visited together and we had the most amazing time. That was two years ago now and this last trip marks my third time in the city and my second time with Holly. It’s safe to say we’re still fully convinced that Paris is one of the most beautiful places in the world and although we feel as though we’ve kind of exhausted the city of Romance for now I am sure we’ll be back someday…

My favourite place in the whole of Paris has to be the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries that are situated just facing the pyramid. I find the whole of the gardens really relaxing even though they can be very crowded with tourists and families at times. Most of the museums around Paris are free if you are under 25 and live in the EU also so we didn’t end up paying for the Louvre (we visited twice because it’s so huge!) neither did we pay for our tickets to the Musee D’Orsay!

We used Air BnB to book our apartment in the city and it only ended up costing us £281 each for 9 nights in the apartment which is just over £30 per night (trying to find a hotel in Paris for even close to that price is almost impossible) and we were situated in the 2nd Arondissiment which happens to be just a 20min walk away from my favourite place in the city – parfait! I thoroughly enjoyed going around the Louvre and especially Napoleon’s apartment which I somehow missed the last time I was there in 2015 with my mom.  We also ate some really great meals out in Paris and the views from the top of the Eiffel Tower at night were amazing. I’ll always remember the first time I saw it lit up in sparkles and the breathed ‘wow’ or ‘ahhhh’ when everyone sees it light up. It’s truly magical.

Have you ever visited Paris? What is your favourite spot?
