The first thing I wanted to talk about is Urban Decay’s One & Done ($34) which is a new foundation, concealer and skin smoothing base all in one. I’ve tried it three times now and really like it. I hate heavy foundations and have previously been using UD Naked Skin which I love. One and Done is very similar but lasts a little less time. I’m impressed and I do like it but I still prefer Naked Skin Foundation! There also isn’t a great shade range for One & Done I bought the palest shade which I usually don’t have to do. I’ve always wanted to try the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray ($5). I have curly hair but I love having messy beach-y curls. I finally bought a mini surf spray after years of lusting and felt a little let down. My hair did look wonderfully curly and messy but only slightly more so than usual. The texture of the surf spray was also awful – I had hydrated my hair using Aussie 3 minute miracle masks just before spraying it on my damp hair and braiding it and by morning my hair was bone dry and felt like straw so I was really unhappy with the Surf Spray!
For as long as I can remember I’ve been using the Real Techniques blender to apply my foundation because it’s much cheaper than the Beauty Blender $20. however, I caved and bought the original Beauty Blender because I didn’t think it was fair to rave about the RT one when I haven’t tried the original. I really love the BB it’s so much softer than the RT sponge. However, there’s no difference in the finish of my foundation whether I use the RT or the original one. So I feel like I’ll be sticking with my RT one! I love the rollerball fragrance I bought it’s Chloe Love Story ($28) and it smells amazing. It’s very fresh, feminine and has a hint of rose. I’m not crazy about rose scents, however, it’s not very strong and it works really well. I use the original Chloe perfume all the time and I just recently ran out so I wanted to try another Chloe scent before getting the full bottle. I think I’ll be getting my hands on Love Story and the Original. Chloe do the perfect scents for women.
My next little collection of items all come from a French brand called Lollipops. They were in a Parisian Souvenir section of Sephora and the packaging caught my eye! The first thing I picked up is the Heart Shaped Blush which is in a lovely pink colour. It’s basically your standard blush pink but it’s very very pigmented. I love the heart shape of it too it’s definitely a more affordable spin on Too Faced’s heart shaped blushers. The Illuminating Pearls are something else I picked up. My mom used to always use these kind of pearls when I was younger and it’s only when I picked these up in store that it clicked that all those years ago my mom was highlighting! I wish she’d told me about it sooner haha! The pearls give a very pale white highlight that’s very subtle for everyday. The last thing I got from Lollipops was a very cute Rose hand cream that doesn’t feel too thick and is perfect in my handbag. I love hand cream at the moment as when I held hands with someone a few months ago they noticed how soft my hands were so now I wear it all the time haha!
