My First Character of the Month Look is Chanel Oberlin!
Hey everybody! I’m introducing a new, ridiculous segment on my blog: Character of the Month. Yes, really. Once a month I’m going to be doing an outfit inspired post by a fictional woman from a TV series, movie, book whatever. This is just me paying homage to some great creative fictional characters and their awesome wardrobes. I hope you guys are on board!
I’m kicking this segment off with one of my favourite TV characters – Chanel Oberlin from Scream Queens. So last month I posted a Chanel inspired wish list because I adore her outfits all throughout the series. This outfit she wears somewhere near the beginning of the first season is my absolute favourite. I’ve always loved blouses that have the pussy bow at the top (hate the name, love the look). The pink fur jacket is just so out-there and not something I would usually wear but it has become a coat I grab all the time. I love it!
I bought this whole outfit on ASOS and it actually didn’t cost as much as I thought it would. The jacket is from Vero Moda and was in the ASOS sale for £45. The blouse is actually a dress (£19) just tucked into the skirt. I love the dress as it’s really simple on the bottom but you have this ridiculous Victorian style bib and pussy bow on the top. I got a few compliments in it actually. The dogtooth skirt was only £8 from BooHoo – bargain. Finally, the pink fluffy shoes I already had when I did an ASOS spree living in L.A. I combined them all and voila! Chanel!
I picked Chanel for my first one because I’ve been re-watching the first season of Scream Queens and I recently started on the second series. I love how satirical and ridiculous the show is. Also, the fact that Chanel is based on a real ex-head of sorority house is fascinating to me. I watch so many movies and TV shows etc and love the outfits but just think ‘Ugh I would never wear that out‘ but why the fuck not?
What do you guys think of the Character of the Month idea? Do you have any suggestions for characters for December?
