Hey everyone! So my final year at University is well under way and so far I am really enjoying it. Moving back into dorm rooms was such a relief because they’re on campus and everything is super close. Not to mention the dorm rooms in the UK are much more spacious and generally just better than they were in the USA. Here’s some decorative ideas for your room that I’ve put in place in mine!
I remember seeing this really adorable butterfly wall in Serena’s room in an episode of Gossip Girl. They look so beautiful! I bought the same butterflies but in grey for my dorm room. They’re made of this really thin bendy plastic and you can bend them to various degrees. They come with small double sided stickers so you don’t have to buy anything extra to attach them to the wall. I think they’re such a cute touch to the room and they’re also really affordable! Buy here for £1.13
I bought these cute initial pillows fro Etsy a few years ago and they’ve been in both my first year and final year dorm rooms. I love anything with my initials on it and I’m hoping to get one of those big copper light up initials sometime soon. But I think I’ll keep that in my room at home as I don’t want to overdo the AJ!
A recent addition to my room is this gorgeous New York skyline piece I got from Posterlounge*. I absolutely adore New York and can’t wait to visit that amazing city again sometime soon. I love the soft pastel colours in the poster and just think it looks so pretty! The poster is in the Alu-Dibond backing which means it’s super sturdy. It also came with some clips to attach it to the wall. Which I’m going to do once I move back home. unfortunately I cant fix anything to the walls i my dorm room otherwise it would be hanging above my bed! You can get this same one from Posterlounge from £11.90 & up*
Another thing I love to add to my dorm room just to motivate me is tips and tricks. I combined some really great essay and motivational advice onto a poster I designed and printed it out. I think these work wonders for my motivation when I catch a little tip out of the corner of my eye!
What kind of things do/did you do to make your dorm room feel more like home?
