More skincare! I know I did a Vegan post on some new skincare finds very recently but… I have been using these Kiehl’s products since around November when I went home to Manchester for a weekend and it’s time to reveal my thoughts on Kiehl’s…
Here’s to a complete skincare overhaul. The store which was actually empty on King St in Manchester and one of the ladies helped me out with products. I always want products that are mattifying but not drying. She suggested a complete regime and since it’s all I needed to buy at the time I went for it!
The Ultra-Facial oil-Free Cleanser is great. You get so much product for your money which is excellent as I was initially unsure if Kiehl’s was good value for money. The cleanser lathers up really nicely and deep cleanses so well. It definitely gets rid of all dirt and oil on the skin and gives you that squeaky clean feel. The Ultra Facial Toner I’m really ambivalent about. It made my skin feel fresh whilst I was using it but I have no idea what the effects of it were long term. To be honest I don’t think there are any. I did get another sample toner that I’m using at the moment so hopefully that works well for me.
Moisturisers are such an important part of anyone’s skincare regime. You definitely do still need to moisturise even if you have oily skin just opt for an oil free version. The Ultra Facial Gel Cream (the tub) is fab! It feels so lightweight and fresh on the skin whilst giving it moisture. It definitely doesn’t leave a layer or make the moisture feel too heavy. The Lotion version is great too but slightly thicker in its formula (because it’s not a gel). But it still works and feels the same.
Onto the final things, samples and serums! The Calendula toner sample I’ve been using the past couple of weeks it’s aimed for oily skin and contains little petals in it. It smells kind of weird but makes your skin feel good and removes any extra oil you may have. The other sample I got was the Nightly Refining Micro Peel which I absolutely have to repurchase in full size! It accelerates skins turnover and basically just makes your skin feel baby soft overnight. I think I prefer this to the Midnight Recovery Complex but it is a little harsher on the skin so be careful if you’re sensitive.
I use the Daily Reviving Concentrate Serum everyday before my moisturiser. It just adds another level of moisture as well as really brightening up the skin. If I’m honest I’m not too sure if adding a serum morning and night is a bit too heavy for my skin. So once I’m all finished up with the serum I’m going to take a look at how my skin reacts to no serum in the morning and make a decision on whether I want one on that. If I am honest I think the serum is brightening but a bit too heavy for oily skin.
Sooo… that’s all my Kiehl’s products for now! I am really very happy on the whole. I’ll be repurchasing the cleanser, the moisturiser, the peel and maybe the calendula toner. What products do you guys like from Kiehl’s? Are there any skincare brands you’d like to recommend?
