Hey everyone! So as part of my New Years Resolutions to eat more Vegan food I’m also trying to increase the amount of Vegan brands that I use in my beauty regime. I wanted to show you a few things I’ve been using recently that I’ve really enjoyed because of switching up my regime!
I’ve spent a good two months trying out these different skincare pieces. I just finished up my Benecos Aloe Vera Cleansing Milk* this morning! I was so sad to see it reach its end because it’s quickly become a regular part of my skincare routine. It’s a super gentle cleansing milk that contains aloe vera. It removes all of my make-up when I use it in the shower and is great for a morning cleanse too as it’s so soft. Its counterpart is the Aloe Vera Face Fluid* which locks in a lot of moisturiser after using the cleanser. What I will say is that it smells strongly of rice pudding. Even though it’s not rice pudding flavoured obviously! But you can’t smell that once it has sunken into your skin.
For Christmas I received a little Lush gift box from my brother Ross. The Rose Jam shower gel smells like roses obviously so if you’re not into florals then I would avoid this. It leaves me feeling a ladylike. The Sleepy Body Lotion is lavender scented so I pop that on after my shower in the evening before I get ready to settle down and chill out. It hydrates my body and the scent isn’t too overpowering.
The final thing I’ve been trialling is a new face oil. I used to avoid oils because I naturally have oily skin but then I found out that you shouldn’t be avoiding oils in skincare especially when they are super absorbent. I’ve been using the Khadi Pink Lotus Face Oil for Oily/Combination* skin for six weeks. It’s very hydrating without feeling too greasy. The best thing about it is definitely the smell. It smells like a spa day/ meditation retreat. You’ll know what I mean if you try it! Its a scent that immediately relaxes me and makes me feel all ‘Zen’. Because of that I adore using it at night before I go to bed. It’s hydrating to the point that I don’t like using it under make-up. However, it’s perfect for a night time fix! It really did improve the elasticity and glow in my skin so I would recommend it for skin that’s a bit dull, showing the first signs of ageing and that’s oily.
What are your favourite cruelty free/ Vegan skincare brands? Let me know which ones I should try next!
