Catch up – Springtime at Royal Holloway

Daffodils at Royal Holloway and Summer Fashion Trends

Hey everyone! I can’t believe it’s my last couple of months at Royal Holloway, where does the time go? This Uni is consistently written up in articles as one of the most beautiful University campuses in the world so it’s so bittersweet that goodbye is coming so soon!

The daffodils on campus always pop out around this time so my partner in arms, Yasmin, and I decided it would be a fab place to go take some photos. It gave me an excuse to wear this Boohoo dress I bought from ASOS. The colour is totally different from anything I usually wear but I’m completely loving it.Β I can’t find this exact dress on the store but these are both similar: 1) & 2). I definitely want to start being a lot more ballsy with things that I wear, especially in summer.

I have been feeling super inspired by some of the fashion I saw at Coachella. That festival always brings out the fashionista’s but I swear I never saw such cute dressed people when I lived in L.A! I’m definitely digging the bohemian vibes, the glitter hair and the big chunky jewellery. I’m always keen to steer clear of the cultural appropriation bullshit. Part of me feels like people go way overboard with taking things from other cultures and then sometimes I feel like people get attacked way, way too harshly for something they were ignorant of and I don’t think it’s that productive to the overall conversation about appropriation. Native American headdress? Not okay. Using face paint (provided it isnt imitating a bindi). Okay. Right? I would love to know your thoughts on cultural appropriation.

In case you guys missed it I have a Morphe 350 palette giveaway going on right now! You can enter over on this blog post and the competition is international!
