I’ve always loved hanging out in London. When I was studying for my BA my friend Yasmin and I would sporadically make London day dates for ourselves. We’d hop on the 40 min train from Egham to London Waterloo and just hang out and explore new places. It’s because of these dates that we’ve had some of the best coffee, taken some amazing photos (for example, in front of that gorgeous pastel wall that was in Bromley-by-Bow before it was taken down), and eaten amazing Greek food.
After moving to the city centre and leaving my Egham days behind me I’m in the city constantly. This has both its ups and downs. But there’s no denying that London is an excellent place to live mainly because there’s just so much to do and see here.
A couple of weekends back my boyfriend Jay and I had a day out wandering around the museums. I bought a pass for my favourite museum, the V & A, and we took some time out to go visit the Balenciaga exhibit (which is a must-see if you’re particularly interested in fashion). We then crossed over the road and into Jay’s favourite museum. The Natural History museum building is worth a visit in itself. The architecture is gorgeous and there are so many minute details on the building that are incredible when you really stop and take it all in. If you’re in London anytime soon take a little look at both museums. They’re entirely free and definitely worth your time.
I’ve really been loving wearing this high neck ASOS dress lately. It’s quite light wearing but the long sleeves and high neckline keep you pretty warm when it’s paired with tights. The Parisian High Neck Floral dress is in the sale at the moment for only £22. On my feet are my trusty Jeffrey Campbell ankle boots. I’ve had these for years and they’re very comfy but also stylish. I’d highly recommend Jeffrey Campbell for shoes because the quality for the price is nothing short of magnificent.
I recently bought this black jack from Primark that is trimmed with faux fur and it is such a good buy! I spotted it in Glamour magazine and noticed it was only £30 so I had to snatch one. It’s my go-to jacket at the moment and I especially love it since throwing away my crumbling old leather jacket last year. I can’t believe I survived without a staple black jacket for so long.
I’m carrying my Kate Spade leather backpack which has been a god send ever since my mom brought it back from a Vegas outlet for me. I love being handsfree in the city so I can hold my coffee or camera. I’m also wearing my Chanel sunnies because, despite it being rather cold in the UK right now, it’s still very bright and sometimes sunny!
