Christmas is my favourite time of year. I am that annoying friend that gets excited way, way too early. As soon as Halloween is over I know that it’s my prime time to spread Christmas cheer and get chatting presents. With that being said, I definitely don’t do my Christmas shopping early. I am always shocked to her that by mid-October, some people are already halfway finished. I could definitely do with a Christmas wishlist from all my family members and friends. It would just make life a lot easier. But, to get you inspired and maybe extend your wishlist a little, I have prepared one of my own.
I absolutely love the dresses from NastyGal. It used to be one of my favourite brands until a couple of years ago when all the clothing seem to magically turn into crappy quality. With that being said, I’ve seen a few blog posts of late with clothing from Nasty Gal that looks amazing. So maybe they’re due a second try. Have you bought from NastyGal recently? What was it like?
I’ve been buying a lot of tops lately because whenever I have spare money it tends to go on a nice dress. But with work, class and an internship I can’t afford to not have nice workwear. I love buying blouses from retailers like ASOS and have fallen in love with some of Maje’s designs too.
Every single online retailer that I shop at has been killing the coat game recently. I love the Missguided red shearling style jacket. Red always looks fab at Christmas time and it is a very on-trend colour at the moment. I saw blogger Megan Ellaby wearing a leopard print coat in one of her Instagrams last month and it looked fab. So, one of those has been on my wishlist ever since. The professional long blazer style coats from ASOS have definitely caught my eye for the office too. There are just too many decisions to be made!
Jewellery & Accessories
A few posts ago I talked about the Gucci Marmont bag and whether it was worth the price tag. I came to the conclusion that, for myself, it wasn’t a worthwhile buy because I like classic bags that aren’t seasonal. Hence, my lusting after this Givenchy number. The gorgeous black bag is literally perfect, I can’t deal. If I had £1,490 (around £250 more than the Marmont) I would buy it immediately. Sadly, I don’t. So there it sits on my wishlist waiting for an owner.
Accessories wise I’ve been loving wearing headbands recently. You can put it down to my obsession with Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf or the fact that I create my own Disney ones over on Etsy. But this cute black number from Ophelia is adorable. Do you know of any headband brands I should check out?
I have tried a few sample sprays of the new Chanel Gabrielle and Tiffany & Co. fragrances. I honestly cannot tell you which one I prefer so I’m definitely going to be picking these up for myself if Santa doesn’t bring them. Gabrielle is the only fragrance launched since 2002, over 15 years ago! Kristen Stewart is the face of Gabrielle and Chanel hosted amazing launch parties for the fragrance (hopefully I’ll be able to attend the one for the next fragrance they lunch in 15-years-or-so time!). Its base notes are jasmine and Ylang-Ylang, it contains middle notes of orange blossom and then hints of blackcurrant and grapefruit zest. I’m always drawn to Jasmine and Orange blossom fragrances so it’s no surprise I like it! It may be overtaking No.5 as my most worn fragrance.
Next, Tiffany’s only fragrance is a new launch. Clever that they’ve both come in time for Christmas, isn’t it? Smart marketing. The top notes are mandarin orange, middle note is iris and base notes are patchouli and musk. I do tend to sway towards musky fragrances with a hint of citrus in them and again the orange notes are present in the Tiffany fragrance. I was pleasantly surprised how much I like this fragrance as I can often take fragrance or leave it and I only ever have a couple that I’ll use time and time again so I’m excited to add more.
Jo Malone’s English Oak and Hazlenut is also on my list, despite the fact I haven’t smelt it before. My favourite Jo Malone Cologne, Blue Agave & Cacao was discontinued, which I’m still not quite over. So, I’m looking for a similar fragrance and the English Oak & Hazlenut sounds like it might do it. I’ll have to pop into store to sample!
Let me know what fragrances you love down below. I always get a fragrance for Christmas, do you?
“Last but certainly not least are shoes. If I were to name one thing I have a wardrobe obsession with it would be quirky shoes. I just can’t get enough.”
