It was around this time of year last year that I rounded up some friends and we all aired our thoughts on body confidence. It’s still my favourite post to date because I got to hear so many stories that I wouldn’t heave heard from my friends otherwise. It ended up being a huge post, featuring photos of me absolutely killing it in swimwear. I was going to the gym a lot that time, working out my frustration and stress of my final year out in the gym. The gym was my therapy. It was a healthy, healthier than going out partying and getting black out drunk. But looking back I put my body through a lot in those few months and finding a balance of exercise and healthy diet has always been a bit of a struggle for me.
I’ve always been one of those go hard or go home type’s. If you’re not doing it 110%, then why are you fucking bothering?
But over the past year or so I’ve come to enjoy exercise. I don’t do it regularly… like at all. I may do a couple of yoga sessions per week and I may do an actual workout once… maybe twice if I’m feeling super awake and motivated. I’d like to get back into it a bit more, I’d like to feel more confident in a crop top than I do now.
As my blogging journey, fitness journey and just overall life journey has evolved, I’ve realised that I am sometimes very confident in my body. I realise I love posting on underwear and bikinis. I am sometimes very wary that my body does fit in with the bikini body stereotype, but that that’s OK. If it’s OK with you guys, I’d love to still post on my favourite things even though I’m no VS model.
I guess what I’m trying to say in a nutshell, it that it’s OK to not feel OK about your body sometimes. To want to change things, to want to be healthier. But it’s also absolutely fine if you don’t. And it’s only recently that I’ve come to accept that I will probably always have both of those struggles inside me. But I’m still going to post on lingerie and bikini’s as often as I can, because I love it!
I’m really excited to share some lingerie content with you guys. I posted a YouTube video on my January sales haul which contained mostly underwear and I really loved creating that video. I can’t wait to explore more within the lingerie community on Bloglovin’ as I don’t too often see these kinds of posts!
For this lovely Lazeme set* I decided to grab my new son Bear and have us do our first shoot together! We adopted him around five weeks ago now and he’s such a lovely dog and a great addition to mine and Jay’s family — we’re parents!
Onto the lingerie! I was kindly gifted this Lazeme set and have been wearing it pretty frequently due to its versatile colour. It’s part of their Freya Fancies range. The lace on the underwear is super soft and you hardly feel like you’re wearing anything down below, which is great. The seams also aren’t visible at all so can be worn with a skin tight dress etc. The bra is comfy and certainly holds everything in – not that it’s tight, but that there’s more material on there than a low cut bra so there’s no chance you’re slipping out. It’s a great set for everyday wear! You can use the code ABIGAILALICE to get some coin off of your Lazeme order if you are interested in saving!
I’d love to know what your guys thoughts are on body image and feeling comfy in undies. Are you confident? Do you have your doubts like I do? Let me know down below!
