If there is anything that’s certain in this day and age, it’s that a good opportunity to party arises more often than not, and if you don’t feel like that is the case then you need to lower your expectations when it comes to occasions. Is your friend getting a promotion? Time to party! Are you getting a promotion? Time for something special! Is your cousin having a baby? Is your good friend getting the grade they wanted at university? Is it your dog’s birthday? You get the point.
The truth is, life is what you make of it, and if you want to have fun with friends every now and again, well, nothing should be stopping you. Last weekend Jay and I hosted our first party together to celebrate our housewarming. It was great to have all our friends together in one place to celebrate our move! If you’re somewhat financially stable, and you have a reason to celebrate, then why not? If you feel like you’ve been running out of ideas on how to go about doing just that, then keep reading as we are about to look at a few cool ways on how to party in a way which makes it count.
Hire a bar or pub
The usual pub crawl can be very fun in its own right, drifting from pub to pub, walking around enjoying the town with your friends, it all has that chaotic element in it which makes it oh so appealing. The problem with those kind of nights out, is that you end up coming home around 5 AM and you have work the next day. Why not satisfy your pub-craving in a more comfy way, which will give you more opportunities to talk to all sorts of friends you invite over? Renting a pub or bar out for an evening can be much less expensive than you would imagine, and considering the offers sometimes even include a set amount of free drinks or food of some sorts, it is definitely worth considering. No need to worry about lack of seating and then standing about next to the door, letting everyone through every few seconds, you can get your own seats, sit around with friends, and have a good time.
With the launch of The Bare Minimum Mag Issue #2 I’m looking at having a rooftop party to celebrate it. I’m really looking forward to having people who contributed to the mag all together in one room!
Boat Parties are Amazing (Just Take Your Seasickness Tablet First!)
If you are not very good at organising parties on your own, or maybe you just want a change of pace, why not go on a party boat, rather than a cruise trip? You can snag some boat party tickets for less than you’d imagine if you go for some group discounts or special offers on VIP tickets. It’s fun, it’s in the sun, and it’s a perfect occasion to not only party but also to catch a tan in the meantime. What’s not to love?
Hire a party bus
Back to the topic of hiring venues, if hiring a pub is not special enough for you to mark the occasion, and going on a party boat is a bit too tropical for your liking, then why not let the whole city know that you are out partying tonight? That’s right, you’ve seen people hire limousines, but you are less likely to have seen people hire a bus. Party busses are a common thing in London, and if you’ve been walking around Piccadilly Circus or Regent Street on a Friday or Saturday night, then you’ve probably seen them around. The bus has a redone interior, much more fitting for a night out, equipped with bottles aplenty, as well as lights, sound systems, smoke machines, and even karaoke. Don’t forget to grab one with a pole on the inside, they make for a lot of laughs when your mom gets on it!
Host a Throwback
Whether you miss the days of 90s rap and hip-hop, or maybe you’re just nostalgic for 90s fashion and interiors, there is a place just for you. The 90s Brunch is a 90s themed chain which really brings back the best parts of the good ol’ days as well as a playlist to die for. No more flavour of the month trap artists who all sound the same, you can go back to your old clubbing playlist like not a day has passed. Much like the party bus, the whole thing comes with some karaoke action except this time there are battles and prizes involved to spice things up. Pizza, burgers, doughnuts, bottomless cocktails and more await you in this nostalgia peppered land, which is just perfect for someone wanting to kick back and have some fun rather than putting on their best dress just to have it ruined by the end of the night anyway.
Have you had a party recently? How do you like to organise things? I’m excited to get started on the one for the next issue of the magazine! If you’d like to be involved in the next issue of The Bare Minimum Magazine do let me know! I’m looking for fashion article writers, illustrators, artists etc. to be involved!
