I was really inspired after reading the World of Wanderlust’s posts where she shared her travel photos throughout the year. Her photos of Botswana and South Africa look so amazing that I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye out for cheap flights there in 2019.
2018 hasn’t been manic with travel. I’ve been working hard to complete my MA in Fashion Journalism (which I did a couple of weeks ago) and working as a social media manager to help me fund my studies and pay for my rent. But whenever me and Jay can afford to go travelling, we always go.
Fuerteventura has always been a go-to holiday destination for me because I’ve been there so many times with family when I was younger. It was great to take Jay there and show him the island and he really, really loved it. I’d definitely recommend it for a cheap week away over Easter break.
Santorini is such a gorgeous part of Greece and it definitely lives up to the hype. I’ve been there only once before but it was great to revisit the island and see some spots I’ve never seen before. Me and Jay would really love to get married there so I’m looking forward to going back to scout locations soon!
Our trip to Budva was a cheap find on Holiday Pirates but it came at a really nice time. The town is very small, very slow paced and there isn’t a lot to do there. We mainly went out for walks and spent time in the spa at the hotel. I was in the midst of completing my final MA portfolio and gathering articles for the magazine. So, the trip was a much needed break away the mania of a Masters.
Paris has always been one of my favourite cities to visit. This trip was even more special because me and Jay got engaged there. Paris has always been and always will be, one of those locations I visit on an annual basis. I never tire of it. I’d love to save up in 2019 and do a big shopping trip there as that’s something I haven’t done in the city yet!
I would love to know your favourite places you’ve visited this year. Drop them in the comments below!
